First, I am curious to what led you to discontinue taking your Prozac? I do not see a reason why you wouldn't be able to resume taking it, but then again I am not a doctor. I am currently taking Prozac, and in the past got off of it, felt okay for a little while, then had to get back on it again. I suspect that I will have to take it for the rest of my life, due to a serotonin problem that I have, that drives me into dark depression. Prozac has made my life much more bearable, and I can look objectively at the problems I face, without becoming overwhelmed.

Before you start again, just as you should have done when you decided to stop, go see your doctor. Hopefully it was a licensed psychiatrist who specializes in mood elevating medications.

Many times when a person stops a meds and goes back on it, it may not work as well. The doctor may decide what is best for you NOW, not in the past.

yes, you can take it again, just give the doc who prescribed it a call and let them know you had stopped for a few months. They may tell you to take a smaller dose at first. It is always good to keep your doctor or health care provider informed.
