Go to your doctor. They can prescribe medicated creams/or drugs to help you get rid of your acne. Which is what this is if you have had it for over 2 years. Don't bother with the commercialised facial washes/creams/etc as they are not designed to treat acne. Your spots are probably the result of fluctuating/erratic hormonal levels which is not uncommon for people of your age. When you go to the doctor though the first medication they prescribe may not always work as not all medications work for everyone. If this is the case for you, then return to the doctor who can then prescribe something different. it will be a case of trial and error i'm afraid! Good Luck!!

My sister found using Wrights carbolic soap helped her spots. But I had really bad acne on my back for ten years. I used all the over the counter stuff, none of it worked and when I eventually went to the doctor he prescribed me an ointment called Zineryt. It's brilliant! It took about 3 months before it had an effect but this is normal with any acne treatment. But it has done the job perfectly, I'm now completely spot free for the first time in ten years!

Its a common problem!
Drink lots of water, aim for a bout 6 pints a day. It flushes out all the toxins from your skin.
Take mineral supplements, Zinc, Vit B and Vit E are good for improving the skin, try Holland and Barrett for a good skin, hair and nail supplement.
You might think its too pricey (but i think its worth it), try Dermolgica products. You can buy from www.perfectskindirect.co.uk, they offer a online consultation, with free samples for you to try, and if you like you buy. There is an acne skin kit on that web site for only £15 which aint bad. Their products are guanteed as long as you get the consultation.
If this doesn't work (and i'm 99% certain it will), go to your GP who will be able to prescripe something.

Stop using soap on your face. Use a drop of surgical spirit on a cotton ball to clean your face, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Rinse until the smell is gone. Don't get it in your eyes.
Do this at night...and in the morning, just wash your face with plain warm water.
When the spots have gone...Do this twice per week to keep your face Clean and spot-free.
Buy Surgical spirit at any chemist.

I would advise you to speak to your doctors, you will be able to get the prescription for free. They will be able to analyse your skin and diet, and giving your a prescription for a lotion, soap, tablets or cream to apply
However for the odd spot I use tea tree oil from boots, superdrugs or body shop.
