get a humidifier in your place, keep your face covered with a scarf when you go outside if it is cold and moisturize.

It could be that your hormones are changing and that is why you are noticing that your skin is drier than ever. I know. It happened to me, too. In addition to caring for the EXTERNAL skin, maybe you could try the following supplements/oils, and see if that helps a bit - although your results will not happen overnight. You need to stay on it for a minimun of 4 months every day. Take a large tablespoon of organic flaxseed oil every day, twice a day. (You can buy this at Whole Foods - it is refrigerated in their vitamin section. Also take: Borage oil (every day.) There is also a supplement called: Hylauronic Acid that adds moisture to the body, and hence, the skin. And take fish oil capsules (again from Whole Foods). They do not taste fishy. Also, take Evening Primrose oil capsules. And Vitamin E oil is good, too. You should begin to notice subtle changes over time - but again, it is not overnight and you need to stick with it. Are you drinking enough water? You also might try cutting back on caffeine and alcohol, if you consume those two things - they are very dehydrating for the body. You could also try getting your hormone levels checked.

Have you tried vaseline overnight? That should give you a start. Then get some Estee Lauder Resilience Lift. I have dry skin and that really keeps my face nice and moisturized without feeling greasy.
Also, be careful with what you're using to cleanse your face. Make sure that you use something moisturizing that's meant for your face. Sometimes soap or shower gel is too harsh. Dove is a good body wash that won't dry your skin and you can use it on your face as well.

I have had this problem with the areas around my mouth and above my eyelids flaking.
You need to stop putting on many different products on your face. Be consistant with one product and remember that it takes about two weeks for your skin to adapt to a new lotion. Don't just quit using it because you think it is not working. Try it for a while. I invested in Estee Lauder Daywear Plus for dry skin. It is a bit expensive (about $40) but it is worth it. L'Oreal also has quality products. Just about any lotion for dry skin may help, but like I said BE CONSISTENT don't give up on it after a few days.
One brand that I had a bad experience with is Vichy. It severely dried the area around my mouth and it gave me acne on my chin, cheeks, and forehead.
Another thing. This dryness may be due to season change. It happens to me. In winter I get dry spots on my skin, and in summer I get very oily. So consider alternating products for different seasons. A light, non oily moisturizer in the summer, and a richer moisturizer in winter.
Good Luck.

I would get something like E45 cream that is specially for dry and flaking skin, or go to doctors and get prescription. Have you changed something that you use on your face like make up or cleanser , it might be an allergy.

In addition to using a good moisturizer during the day and overnight, remember to exfoliate.

Hey, I'd take it over hands so very dry that they crack and bleed. That's one of the problems that I have.
See your doctor about this. If s/he can't help, then ask for a referral to a dermatologist.
