Yes, it might even get his conviction removed. Ask an army or marine recruiter. It might depend on the conviction. The army has accepted convicts who were given a choice of enlistment or prison. A judge will be willing to set aside the punishment in light of enlisting in the arm services. Again it depends on the crime.

Talk to a recruiter. They won't hound you to badly because as long as his is on parole, he can't join. Different felonies require different amounts of time between coming off of parole and enlistment. These time requirements change from time to time. If he is serious, he can see if the recruiter is willing to work with the DA to get the charges lowered and have the parole dropped. This will be on your brother's shoulders because I don't see many recruiters taking the time and effort to pursue the matter if your brother is not willing to spend the time to help himself.

The army can usally take non violent felonies, and those must meet certain criteria as well. It will not get the conviction removed. A recruiter cannot go to bat for you either, it is against regs, but he will tell you pretty quickly if ha can work with you.

Zull may be right. Go to all the recruiters and see what they say and what they have to offer. If one branch tells you know try another. If any of them say no, go find another recruiter. You never know! Tell him to be up front with them about his charges and conviction. When you don't know something, or want something, you have to make the effort. Don't wait for things to fall in your lap.

Definitly not in the Air Force, or in any occupation in the armed forces that require a security clearance, which well, is now most all of them.

good luck to you.
