Most of the castration was done for 2 reasons one being the keeper of the harem and the other was mainly done by the catholic church and not voluntarily as a child could not be aware of the results so it was involuntary done for centuries to helpless little boys by a sadistic clergy to keep their voices high for the entertainment of the church the last of the castrados died in 1969 and yes it was mentioned in the Bible along with other cruel things like rape ,sodomy bestiality child sacrifice burning alive helpless infants and children and causing an abortion was a capitol crime punished by stoning to deathe the criminal Gorbalizer

The bible says intercourse with anyone but your spouse was forbidden. I am pretty sure this means that rape and child molestation aren't allowed (after all you were stoned for adultery and that was consensual).

As for castration, I believe it was more valuable to have a guard that couldn't sleep with your wife when you were away. In addition, castrating boys keeps their voices from changing, which makes them more valuable as entertainers.

This practice was mainly carried out in the Middle East (Arabia, etc.) when the sultans needed men to guard their harem.
Castrating them (removing a man's testicles) took away all sex drive, and that way the sultan didn't have to worry about the guards messing around with his women. (This was done while the male was still a child and thus never experienced "lustful" urges.)

i think it had to do with making sure they didn't chase after the slaveowner's daughters. and also the church liked castrating boys before they hit puberty because it halted their vocal development and kept their voices high-pitched so it sounded nice in the choir.

biblically, its completely illegal. we jews still follow biblical laws and so we can't even neuter our dogs, let alone human beings. and yes, child rape is also biblically sinful.

Remember the bible was written by a bunch of dudes, many of which were living in rather unenlightened times.

I think they thought that was a perfectly normal thing to do since slaves were only considered as property then.

We really need to be careful about which books we take to heart and guide our actions by.

Eunuchs were created by powerful men who did not believe in emacuate conception, but on the fact that physical contact produces babies, and wanted to ensure only thier sperm resulted in babies.

Rape is a sociological and legal concept. If you in fact own your wife or children, as it was in many cultures, then rape of anyone is impossible.

some people in the catholic church actually used to voluntarily become eunuchs, it's true they were voluntarily castrated because castrated men are better choir singers, they were called the "Castrato"
