interesting question.
if it rained so long, flooded the entire earth, the salinity of the ocean's would fall dramatically, thus making the waters uninhabitable for many species in our oceans.

No doubt, the deep sea creatures stayed "deep" just as they do today. To answer the "diluted salt water" mystery (for some people anyway)... they should answer these ... When it rains/floods/monsoons now, is the sea water diluted to the point the sea creatures start to die??? Do we know if during the 40 days of rain if the sun shone to evaporate sea water and continue the water cycle as it does now??? Furthermore, since God is the creator and all-powerful would it have been impossible for him to keep the water creatures alive??? He definitely gave the formula to Noah to keep the land animals & people alive.
If you believe that the evidence is obvious that the world was created by intelligent design and you believe the God described in the Bible is the creator, the account of the flood is not difficult to believe.
I hope this helps. ...think about it.

You can look forever to find little questions that only confuse yourself.Does that really matter when it comes to a belief in God?no,.There are many questions that we all have and some we will be granted answers to if we live long enough. Most questions we have are answered by living through some things. Most of scripture isn't just literal, most scripture is metaphorical.Your question and thinking is that of person who is skeptical of Gods presence and you want something more solid to believe in.The bible was written by men and put together with the desires of men.Yet each scripture can be magical if you can understand the spiritual meanings and how they reflect on your life at this very moment. The Quran is special to some because it said to have come word for word straight from God,different from the bible.I don't really care if Noah built an ark,if Jesus was white or black or even if he was the Messiah,in the end ,when my body dies and my spirit returns to it's Creator, what my hands have done and what my mouth has spoken here ,will be all that matters.I have only one belief and the belief is in God,the creator of all the world's.I live everyday trying to make an invisible God visible by my deeds.

Why bother? Only land based animals were put on the ark. The sea creatures were taken care of by God. See Genesis 7:21-23.

Sea creatures ought to stay out of the ark because they lived interior the sea. the entire earth grew to grow to be right into a widely used ocean, so for them, they'd various of playground to loaf round in.

He didn't the story has to be a myth, In order for Noah to do what the bible has said he did on that scale, would take a thousand ships or more the size of our modern oil tankers to put all the species we have in the world today, it would have been mathematically impossible for him to complete such a task, this is just another classic example of how controversial, and vary questionable truths the bibles contents really are, I for one and a Christian catholic, look at the bibles contents for the most part as an exaggerated fabrication of stories written by scribes, and this is simply why it is the greatest story ever told.

You answered your own question. A flood would have been uneventful for such creatures. So what would be the point of taking a pair of each on the Ark??

well for the deep sea creatures being in the water no matter what the depths are won't affect them at all so they stood in the water there would be no need to keep them in the ark that was for the animals who were land types and could only survive on land such as cows and goats and animals of that sort

It was only land animals that went on the ark. Would you take a fish out of water to save it? Its just common sense.

god knew that even though land animals would be hugely outnumbered, eventually people would over fish, and drive whales to extinction. That is why Captain Kirk and the Enterprise crew came back in time with the Romulan spaceship and made a water tank to take two whales back to the future. It was Capn Kirk's mini ark.
