Things are looking pretty much the way they've always looked. We walk around, knowing that we're going to die, which creates a bit of stress, so we tune into the evening news to hear about other people dying, in an effort to distract ourselves. We watch the usual parade of reports featuring fires and car crashes and war and robberies along with generous dollops of celebrity gossip. We have been persuaded that in watching this, we are learning about the world. We're not. We're merely having our attention held so that we watch the commercials.
I look at the history of mankind and how it's muddled through ice ages, plagues, wars, famines and dim-witted governments and I have a great deal of hope. As long as we remain adaptable and capable of thought, we'll be all right.

If you are a Christian:
What hope DO YOU have for mankind?
If this is coming from an evangelical Christian,
you must be kidding with this.
Since most people whom ever lived will be burning in hell on God's watch for all eternity and planet earth was made just as a testing ground for God's pets made of clay.
If this is coming from an atheist:
I don't have much hope for humankind, our population will keep exploding and mother nature will come down with a disease for all of us to get rid of us like a bad case of fleas.

Since I don't believe everybody's going to get sucked up into Heaven when things are at their worst, I want to make sure this planet doesn't reach that point. I want my children to have something real to look forward to in their lives, not just the hope that things will be better for them after they die.

For mankind, very little. All I can do is raise my future children with the strength to make a difference in the world and support them in that cause as long as I'm still ticking.

I Can only hope that they will live their lives with a logical mind and hopefully in their time religion will be all but obsolete. Instead of the sensless killing over religion that we see constantly, I hope you children unite and work together to progress humanity and stop worrying about who is right and who is wrong. I want my children to not be insecure and afraid of anyone who is different. Pretty much I just want our future to be more united then it is now.

i always have been taught and i agree with this teaching from my mother that life is what we make of it which means that it can be good or bad it's up to each and every individual to make of it what they want it to be yes there are some bad things going on in the world but it's not as bad as it could be because things could always be worse then what they are

Why isn't this question for Jews or Christians are any other religion? We're all different, stop judging people just because they don't believe in what you believe. Everyone is just looking to survive, and not depend on some non existent source of higher power cause that isn't gonna save you or us in the long run. We're supposed to teach our children to believe in themselves and only themselves because only they can help themselves, not some non existent being.

There will be a natural conclusion to this planet. Jesus isn't coming. I hope many more generations have a shot at getting it right before it's all over.
