I am using http://www.sealandsend.net
They have very nice invitiations and even send you free samples. The RSVP card, map, information, hotel info and everything else can go on it. You not only save mony, but time as well!!!
For wording try using http://www.versethis.com otherwise they have their own as well. You can choose from tons of different fonts, colors, and paper types on the seal and send site.
If that doesnt work for you i would suggest making your own- you can get very nice paper from the craft store with tons of things to decorate them with. Print the invites from your home printer and voila! instant handmade invites.

Congrats on the wedding! :) First of all, don't waste your time on printing on a home printer. Unless you live in a print shop, the results you'll get will be mediocre at best. There are many affordable options to go with. I too was in your situation and needed some affordable invites. My options were: a) design my own b) find some to print on my own (ei a design that could be downloaded to my own computer then I print it at a local print shop) or c) see if I could find a crafts person to buy an affordable design from. I ended up designing my own since I did not like many that I saw out there, but you can do whatever fits you best. If you are an artist, go with designing your own! It's fun! Whatever you choose, good luck!

I handmade mine with things you can find at Walmart. It ended up being about $45 for sixty invitations. Look for the book Wonderful Weddings for Cost Conscious Couples put out by TLC. That's where the idea for mine came in and they are much prettier than anything you could buy in a store.

We bought invitation kits from Office Depot, borrowed some wording from some other invitations we liked (we looked at HUNDREDS of wording options online before making our own), and then I printed them myself on our printer.
You need to have a VERY good quality printer (something that can print high-quality pictures like a Canon) and a big dose of patience, but in the end, it cost us less than $70 to do 100 invitations!

My husband and I made our own wedding invitations. I just went to a craft store and got some card stock, vellum paper, and ribbon. I printed the announcement on the vellum, and tied it to the cardstock with the ribbon. A friend of mine (who got married 3 months after me) liked them so much that she asked me to make hers (with different wording of course). They turned out very nice and didn't cost all that much to make. I've also been asked to make some for a soon to be sister in law, and my own sister wants me to make something similar for a baby shower. It just takes time, patience, attention to detail, and a good quality printer.
