The biblical atrocities prove he's not good. What's wrong with pointing that out, or judging him according to our morals?

Judge away! His goodness is proven time and time again. He is perfect; therefore, He is just. If people sin against Him, He (by His very nature) must blot it out. He killed many in the Old Testament because, in my opinion, He knew they were evil and would never change their hearts and repent.

In His goodness, He provided a way for us sinners to be reconciled to a Holy and Righteous God - He sent His one and only Son who lived a perfect life - to be our payment for sin. And that's as good as it gets!

I think that the argument is that God has some huge plan that we don't have all the intel on. Because of this, some of the stuff he does may seem bad from our limited perspective, but in the greater picture it is all a part of the big divine plan.

I discern Gods Goodness all the time. God is Good all the time.

Discerning is a form of judging.
