There is evidence that there was an ancient flood. People knew this, so it had to be added to the bible or else everyone would have known that the bible was fiction. So where did the Jonah fable come from?

No, I mean Jonah and the whale. Obviously it did not really happen.

Well could you live inside a whale?

Probably the same origins as the leviathan... How can anyone really know? (I think some translations of the Bible actually use the word leviathan, but we don't talk about that. Greek Mythology and Christian Mythology are totally separate. Really. They are. Really!)

Your question was interesting though, and I found this... (?)

Perhaps I'm confused by your question because Jonah and flood have absolutely no connection whatsoever in the Bible. Either you accidentally typed Jonah but were thinking about NOAH... or you just don't know anything at all about the Bible.

Either way I see your question as just trying to instigate an argument from Christians because you say that the story of the flood had to be added so that people wouldn't "know" that the Bible is fiction. Therefore I am not going to bother to explain the mountains of information, archaeological data and manuscripts that corroborate and validate the many accounts in the Bible.

do you mean Noah. Jonah was the one who got swallowed by the whale. it originated when it happened and Moses wrote it down.

good question. i honestly have no idea. i wouldnt doubt it has something to do with some fisherman out in the water, being bored, perhaps getting drunk, and coming back making up this grand story about how a whale swallowed him and what not. *shrug* one of the many unbelievable stories.

Before answering, one must accept your premise as accurate.
If your claim is the 'Jonah' account is not factual, could you please provide proofs ....at least, reasonings?
