I wish I could give you a better answer than this, but I would advise guarded caution. For a Korean made car they were not really all that bad when brand new and had some very interesting advances. But like all Korean cars they eventually started having problems, Expensive problems! Not to mention Korean cars have awful resale value, worse than many American made cars.
That said you might still be able to find a good one and if you can get it a good price, take good care of it and intend to keep the car even after it's paid off it may be worth it for you. If it's just a cute car that the dealer is trying to stick you in along with a high finance charge, run away FAST! If you don't this car will own much of your monthly pay check, not to mention the Tiburon is one of the more expensive cars to insure. I think you would be much better off to look at a Honda Accord Coupe, possible a Civic. They are not as sporty looking or have all the bells and whistles that the Tiburon has, but I feel you will have a much better over all car. Good Luck

I say go for it, Hyundai makes a good car and the Tiburon is a nice sporty vehicle that should last you a long time as long you take care of it.

My cousin has one he hasn't had any problems since he got it back in 2005, its a pretty cool car, not the fastest one though but its sure is the best bang for the buck. but the way it gets very good mpg.
