White fish or oily fish. Or is it better to have a variety of both. I want to try and eat fish as often as possible. Love John Dory but find it hard to get in the shops here. What other fish is similar?

Hi Congratulations on choosing fish,It is healthy to eat any type of fish, but it is even better if you eat a lot of oily fish such as mackerel and Salmon. you will see from the above site that it is very good for the Heart and Blood, and cleaning out the blood veins,to stop them from getting furred up.I eat a lot of Cod, Mackerel, Smoked Herrings and Salmon. Have also gone for Hoki and Place. You cannot beat a good plate of fish and chips,

Oily fish is supposed to be 'brain food' but I prefer white personally - I'm sure either is better than excessive amounts of read meat so you're onto a winner!

mackeral is nice and healthy, oily fish is better for you more omega 3. you can grill it, do it on barbecue. And they are easy to find. And not exactly expensive or huge. only bad thing is they often have lots of bones.

a diet of just fish isnt healthy. the best is to eat a balanced diet. oily fish are too fattening although they tend to contain omega oils. steak fish are known to contain a lot of mercury which can result in mercury poisoning. eat a balanced diet of vegetables, meat, fish and pasta!
