some Christians would explain their growth in grace, becoming more like Christ, more in terms of a progressive growing and seeking Christ. Some would say that the work of the Holy Spirit in Sanctification happens all at once when we surrender our lives to Jesus.

How would you explain what the Lord has done in your life?

I would lean toward instantaneous JUSTIFICATION, and progressive sanctification.

Both. When I became truly interested in God and Christ, to the point of investigating my own beliefs and if/how they fit into a church belief system, it seemed that my spirituality took a substantial jump forward and with it a substantial jump in all things related to spirituality. Then once I was baptized and had a fairly good understanding of how things were done in church, it seemed to be more progressive, building line upon line, precept upon precept. However, I believe that when the time comes and I am judged, Christ will make up the difference and therefore, my sanctification will take another giant leap forward from "not there" to "there". In the mean time, I have to keep working towards it, and do all I can do.

I'm not Christian, so I'll use my own terms. I unknowingly spent my life preparing for what took place in the blink of an eye.
I then spent the next few years overhauling my belief systems to bring them more in alignment with what the Christ revealed to me.
