Of course, all the time. This is the essence of re-incarnation. However, one comes back as a baby, and deliberately without remembering previous lives, so as to start one's ascension , and oblivious of old scores, otherwise life would become impossible. The afterlife, is the period in-between re-incarnations or, if one is elevated enough the staying in one of the upper spheres, ultimately the Spiritual.

Yeah! I crossed over and was stopped at the border with 114lbs of weed.The afterlife consisted of some time in federal prison.

No. But people have had near death experiences, but those are not the same as having been dead and come back to life. As much as I'd like to think there's an afterlife, we really have no proof.

I've had my 'death' initiation. If you know anything about the Greek Mystery religions, you'll understand that the Baptism is a form of initiation into the death of Christ. It's actually an 'occult' ritual, that if performed properly, will allow you to cross over. Gnosticism at its finest.
