Crisis pregnancy center —This is a place where they talk only to pregnant women. It might even have a maternity center attached where you could live until the baby is born.
Family planning clinic —This is a place where women get birth control information or pregnancy tests.
Adoption agency —This choice is good if you are already leaning strongly in the direction of adoption.
Health Department or Social Services—A food stamps or welfare worker can tell you which clinic or department is the right one.
Mental health center or family service agency—Counselors at these places help all kinds of people in all kinds of situations.

17 is never too old. 50 isn't even too old. EVERYONE needs a family. I would adopt. I cannot have anymore children. There is lots of people out there willing. This is the saddest thing I've ever heard. Try an agency or e-mail me... I'll do some checking. workingchantel@yahoo.com

It is extremely difficult to find an adoptive family once you have reached 17 years of age. Your social worker probably has already listed you in the "waiting children" lists in your county. If you haven't met with your social worker, contact them and express your desires to be adopted convincingly. Follow up and make sure that your file has been updated, try to encourage your social worker to actively seek out potential adoptive families. See if there are seminars or support groups that potential adoptive families attend, and then see if you can volunteer there in hopes that a family may make friends with you and notice you.
Realize that this may not work, and you may not find a family to legally adopt you. If this turns out to be the case, there are still ways of creating a "family of choice" for yourself and finding mentors to help fulfill some of your needs for love, inclusion and caring adults in your life. You can be close to your friends families, and their parents and siblings may informally "adopt" you and give you some emotional benefits of a family. You can volunteer for causes you care about, be friendly with teachers and find informal "adult mentors" this way. Creating and maintaining a "family of choice" is a life long pursuit and can be very fulfilling.

What is the matter???!!! You want to be adopted by a loving family? Don't you think your "bio" parents might dispute that option? I am willing to look into it or to try to help, but write and help me help you.

Sweetheart, I'm afraid that there is no simple answer. You will probably have to content yourself with starting a family of your own, and being all the things that you never got for yourself. All the best to you.
