My brother told me to go pawn his saw, but I wanted to kinda have an idea of how much I can get for it before I go. thanks for any help

Probably not very much - pawn shops usually pay bottom dollar (mostly because everyone that brings them stuff is stealing it, and trying to get money for crack/meth).

If it is a good name brand, and in decent condition, you might consider taking out an ad in the paper for it.

About 20-25% of the retail value if it is in excellent condition. Less if it has been well used. Pawn shops are a really bad idea, especially if you just want to sell the item.

sell it on ebay instead, or through the loot free ads paper/website (loot.com) you can look at similar items to get a rough idea of how much to charge

you'll get next to nothing from a pawn shop, sell privately instead...

you'll be kicking yourself if you sell it to a pawn shop for a 10er, only to bump into someone in the pub later on who says "i'd have given you 50 for that...."
