I dont think it was a mistake at all. It shows that you're a level headed girl, who knows that mistakes happen and that in order to love...we must be able to forgive. What's more important than whether or not WE understand you, is...does HE? I hope he doesnt have some false image of love, that its all hearts and harps. Love takes work....but its VERY rewarding. Keep writing your thoughts down. Keep writing love notes. The effort alone speaks volumes about how you feel, regardless the words you choose to use!

If you have to question whether or not writing the letter was a mistake, then you have some doubt that the relationship will flourish. I say that simply because we both know that his thoughts would be: "Is she saying that our relationship is too rocky and won't last? Maybe I should call it quits now before things get too out of hand." If you don't have doubt, then you know that he will realize these things and continue to try to work it out.
I do commend you on communicating with him about it though. If your relationship is as strong as you say, then you have nothing to worry about.
"A letter is sometimes a great way to talk, when you just can't say the words."

No I don't think so. Of course I do not know in what way you are making this reference so this is just my opinion. To say what you said can be construed several ways but to someone who loves you I think it is saying something like this...."Sweetheart mistakes happen to all of us and sometimes these mistakes can cause pain and heartache but yet out love is strong enough I think to withstand these aches and pains because we care so much for each other and love each other so much."

No I don't think it was wrong. Do you two fight a lot? That is the first thing that came to mind. To him maybe could be a ploy to keep him or a simple apology. Or maybe nothing at all. Don't know enough details.

No, it is not a mistake, but don't be surprised if you have to explain it to him. Men are strange, they need things to be in black and white, they seem to have absolutely zero talent in reading things and understanding what you really mean. But, he may get it and you won't have to explain anything. Either way, it is not wrong to let him know how you are feeling.
