It could be a digestive problem, however, it could also be a postural problem. If you wear high heels or have been pregnant before, the chances are that you caused an imbalance in your general alignment so your spine is a bit tilted backwards just above your bum. This in turn can cause for your stomach muscles to deform, which will cause a protrusion. You would need physiotherapy-type exercises (not your usualy stomach crunches as this can make the problem worse if it's related to this problem). Go and see your physio, just complain that this hurts your back, blah, blah, blah. It can take some time for the correction to happen depending on how long you've been damaging your back for (whether it's wearing high heels for years or having been pregnant for 9 months). Good luck, hope you get the stomach you want.

I don't know how much 9 stone is in pounds but it seems you are rather small. Therefore it won't take much for a tummy to show. I'm sure exercise and diet and exercise could rid you of it but it probably doesn't look that bad.

I suppose there could be a lot of different reasons. I had a problem w/ this and was told that the cause was h-pylori, which was found after a simple blood test. I was given antibiotics to clear it up and I think they worked b/c my bloating has almost vanished.

Do you drink plenty (just water and stuff), cause if you don't, you get a bloated tummy - sounds daft but true
