I was treated for a intestinal infection on Sunday (food poisoning) I came in and my blood pressure was 95/68 and my heart rate was 108 or something like that. Kind of low so they gave me 3 liters of fluid because of dehydration. After that they tested me. (I had been resting the whole time) my blood pressure was still around 95 (It got up too 101) and my heart rate went to 115. (It was as how as 120) They were concerned because they said my heart rate should of gone down, and wanted me to see a doctor today (Which I will be) they wanted me to get more fluids but that seems too be alot of fluids. Plus I am 7 weeks pregnant

They seemed concerned but still let me go. Has this happened to anyone or has anyone experienced this? Should I be worried the doctor is going to say something is wrong with me?

I would get a 2nd opinion. Did you have a physical before your pregnancy? What kind of shape were you in Blood Pressure & Heart Rate (base line)? I would have some blood work done, to make sure everything is o.k. & stay well hydrated.

I agreed with the others - no point in worrying. Obviously, something is not working right, but there are all sorts of odd things that can happen during pregnancy. If you never had blood pressure or pulse problems before the pregnancy, then it is probably not a serious problem and instead is related to some type change due to the pregnancy.

You should take you pulse in the morning when you first wake up, and before you get out of bed - this is your resting pulse rate, and that's the rate that is important. A typical resting pulse rate is around 72 beats per minute. For me, my resting pulse rate has always been closer to 80, and i don't have high blood pressure or any other cardio-vascular problems (that I know of). Its possible that anxiety from visiting the doctor is causing your pulse to rise. I have ended up in the ER several times in recent years for injuries, and the last time this happened after breaking my arm, my pulse rate was around 120 at the hospital, and 90 a few minutes after i got home.

It sounds like you are on the right track with regards to tracking down the culprit to your problem. At the ER; they were probably mainly concerned with making sure you weren't having a heart attack (blood-lipid profiles and EKG). The next step will be to visit a cardiologist for an exercise stress test, halter monitor, and an echocardiogram. What the cardiologist will want to do is rule out any congenital defects of the heart (with the ECG) and try to "capture" the event as it occurs with the halter monitor or stress test. If you get a clean bill from the cardiologist here are the remaining things I would rule out: 1. Anxiety (panic) attack 2. Thyroid malfunction (Thyroid Storm) 3. Caffeine Allergy 4. Electrolyte (sodium/potassium) imbalance 5. Bacterial/Viral Infections

dont be too worried, they won't let you go if your situation is really bad. and your doctor would probably give you medications for the fast heart rate that is safe for pregnancy.. please dont just take any meds, consult your doctor first.
