One should remember to blink frequently while using a computer, because without blinking the eyes dry out, and over time permanent damage can result.

Just as people are right and left handed they are right or left eyed with the focal distance of most fast games being in the distance (and two dimensional) you do not binocular vision, so you close your non-dominate eye to give yourself better vision on what is happening on the screen
