Depends on what you want to do. It could get you a job as a site inspector or in surveying, or cost estimating. many menial jobs with some advancement to higher technical jobs. Id go right to the full civil engineering degree if i were you. Long term growth, salary, and interestingness of the job are higher. You might not like inspecting culvert pipe installation 20 years from now, it might be worth it to go all the way. Be sure to take and pass your Fundamentals of Engineering (FE, EIT) certification at the end of either course work.

Though a previous answer mentioned it, it won't prepare you for a job in surveying (You'll need to do a different set of qualifications and exams for that). It may give you a job as an instrument technician or a member of a survey crew, but that's not the same as being a licensed land surveyor.

you would be a CAD technician, civil engineering technician, or layout technician. The assets you defined doing is artwork that technicians do, and genuinely i'm shocked that they assist you call your self a technician in case you dont have your acquaintances degree yet. You wont ever have the flexibility to call your self an engineer till you get a bachelors degree in civil engineering and get your PE after 4 years.
