Or to put it another way, if I were to go there on a visit how long would £250 last me?
I have already checked out the exchange rate which is approx. 8.3 new shekels to the gb pound, but that doesn't tell me much about how expensive things are in Israel.
For example, what would be the cost of a meal in a reasonably nice restaurant?

Hi,

You can eat at cheap and fast foods for 20-30 shekels.
Going out, a beer is about 22 shekels.
Public transportation is also very cheap.

Hotels well you should check out their prices on the net.
hope this info was helpfully, and enjoy yourself

It depends if the 250 pounds are only for food etc. or
also for lodging. If its for lodging too it won't last much
3 -4 days max. if its only for food you might need for
a reasonable nice restaurant about 10 pounds approx.
without wine or so. Israel is quite expensive.
