first called the Falklands by the British who landed there in 1690, called the illes malouines by the french in 1764. the french set up a settlement in 1764, the British in 1765. the Spanish attacked and destroyed the British base in 1770, but they returned in 1771, they withdrew in 1774 but still asserted their claim to the islands. previously, in 1766, the french had given their colony to Spain. in 1790 the British ceded the colony to Spain under the nootka convention that allowed the British and US full fishing and hunting rights. after independence from Spain, Argentina established a penal colony at port Louis. in 1831 the port Louis and the penal colony were destroyed by US warships for breaking and nullifying the nootka convention by seizing US sealing boats. as Argentina had broken the convention, their right to the islands had been abrogated and legally the islands reverted to British ownership. the British began a civilian settlement in 1833.
1. the British and the french first settled the islands.
2. the islands were ceded to Spain, not Argentina.
3.the Argentines never settled the islands, they used it as a prison.
4. even though Argentina was not entitled to claim the islands, they were allowed to continue using them until they broke the treaty.
5.the islands reverted legally to Britain, they established a civilian settlement, Argentina never had.

What's your question?
'Islands Falkland?
Property of Argentina...'
this is not really a question.
I have sympathy with the many loyal Argentinians who were at war with Thatcher and the UK and lost their lives or got injured. Poor souls, may they rest in peace!
In the 21st Century we need to move beyond macho war making and invasion- us Brits have done it, alongside many other countries! With global warming, many countries will need their people - new refugees - settled into foreign lands (as their own flood or become inhabitable) so we need to start thinking of the earth as a place to share, until humans find a way to turn back the damage we have been creating.
Peace brothers and sisters. Rob

As long as the people wish to remain part of the British Commonwealth they should have that right; it's called democracy and human rights, and therefore no, they are not the property of Argentina.
(As a wider point, no country or territory is the "property" of anybody; the only "property" is land that is purchased such as the home you live in)

No. The Falklands Islands belong to the British, and will remain so.

Why are you trying to provoke the British people again? The Falkland Islands are British sovereign territory. The majority of people living there are of British descent and voted to stay British.

Reading the answers you've already received sounds like it's mainly brits (from england)....
Geographically = Argentine.
But the brits (from england) have lost their empire and the Falklands is the last soveneir they have.......oh and a rock at the tip of Spain....which they don't really want...but they don't want anyone else to have it either.
Would Argentina really want a group of islands populated with a bunch of inbreeders.......surely not.
