Greetings - Patrick here from footprintsdownunder - 2 weeks is not all that long but long enough to need a bit of gear.
I would go for what I recommend as a front pack for backpacking this is between a day pack and a small rucksack I have included some links below to pictures so you know the style and what I am talking about.
With buying a good hybrid pack you will have it for years to come for all your adventures and travel

Jansport Tower bag... this also used in hiking. There's a lot to put inside this bag even shoes and other bulky stuff.
