That is a good question. There, back in the OT, (I think) there was a law of that killing wasn't done during the daytime. (I.E. if a robber broke into your house, well, you know...but if this done at daytime, you could kick the snot out of him, but not go beyond that.) And (Again, I think,) there was tradition that the body should be buried before the sunrise.) There things that people can resolve without murder. Sure you may not like the outcome, but atleast you won't have to answer as to why you took this person off the earth. (Just like here, only IF you get caught.) You may think your safe if you get away with it, but we all know "For every action, there is a reaction." I figure SOMEBODY is keeping tabs on our lives.

Dear gazireal, First off, I belive your definition christian is wrong. The BIble says that a christians is one who has repented (turned fomr sin) and placed thier trust in Jesus as Lord and savior. its okay to belive and read the BIble, but those things do not make a person a christian. The BIble says that there will be many who say to Jesus on that day "Lord Lord! did we not prohhesy and teach and belive in your name? and his reply will be "depart from me, I never knew you." "You belive in God, thats good, even the demonds belive and tremble" (James)
Now, what about crimes? wel, the BIble says that you will know the true christian by their fruit. the true Christian, desires the fruit if the spirit, "love joy peace happiness ect". if someone calis to be a christans, but fundamnetally lives there entire life without the desire of the fruit of the spirit, something is seriously wrong, they are what is called False Converts. False converts are those who belive in God and Jesus, but they neevr have repented and trusted in him and turned from their sins. One who genuinely repents, will "hate the garments spotted by the flesh." God makes them a new creature with a new heart. Thorn bushes do not bear figs, you know the difference, and thats what we must also observe when desceirning, a true chiristian from a false one.
So, How does one become a true Christian? let me ask you a few questons.........
Would you consider yourself to be a good person?
Have you ever lied?
Have you ever stolen something?
Have you ever looked with lust?
Have you ever used Gods name in vain?
We Just went through a few of the Ten Commandments, This is the standard God will use to Judge the wowlrd in righteousness. if you have said yes to these four questions, then by your own admission, your a lying theiving blapshemous adulterer at heart. The penalty for your sin is Hell, because God is infinately Holy, and by nature he must punish sin. It dosent end there, Jesus christ has come to suffer and die on the corss for the sins of the wordl. You broke the Law, and Jesus paid your fine. If you will repent (turn from sin) and trust in jesus as Savior and Lord, he will forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life. He wil give you a new heart with new desires to follow him. I know this is true, because I have repented and trusted in Jesus, and I was changed from an adament cynic, into a Blood washed forgiven beliver. I have been frogiven and granted eternal life, and I know have the Holy spirirt as a witness within me. best yet, I have been called as an apostle and beliver, to take the Gosple message to the world. God is so serious about sin, e once winked at our transgressios, but now he commands men everywhere to repent, because he has appointed a day in which he will Judge the world in righteousness.
God Bless
Apostle

Christian means "Christ follower"
Someone who believes in God and Jesus and goes to church tends to be labled a Christian but that doesn't mean they are a "Christ Follower". Someone who follows Christ, follows His teachings which were to love your neighbor, and how can you love your neighbor when you commit crimes against him? Jesus said to do to others as you would have them do to you. How many people do you think would like people to be hateful to them?
If a person is hateful and violent, then they are not following Christ no matter how many Bibles they own or how often they go to church. They might be "religious" but they are not "Christian"

Crime is bad. To say that stealing in the name of god is right is demented thinking. I never stole a thing in my life (except a few women's hearts after I swept them off ther feet) so I have done no wrong.

(Matthew 7:21-23) [Jesus said] Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.
(James 1:22) However, become doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves with false reasoning.
(1 John 5:3) For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments
(Matthew 7:13-16) Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it. 15...16 By their fruits you will recognize them.
