Hello,

(ANS) OK! within both medicine and nursing its now widely accepted that some conditions are related to genetics, or have a genetic element. Meaning that some conditions do indeed seem to run in families, if you are concerned & I detect you are very anxious about this. I would like to suggest that you have yourself tested and talk with a gentisist or genetics counsellor.

Having a genetics test means taking a sample of your DNA, this is usually done from a mouth swab and collects cells from the lining of the mouth. These cells can be analysed for the presence of certain genetic markers which indicate the presence or lack of certain conditions. Such tests can give you some idea of the potential risks % chance of these conditions affecting you yourself.

Most large NHS teaching hospitals have a genetics dept for this type of work, it can normally be arranged via your GP or family doctor.

**I cannot tell you if the tests are free and done on the NHS or if you have to pay?

Best Regards
IR

Sorry to hear about the plight of your family members how sad for all concerned.

However, you should eat fresh food and keep a healthy diet and chances are you will escape if not all but most of these illnesses. There is growing evidence to substantiate that good healthy food is the key to good health, so this combined with exercise will prove beneficial I am sure.

Eat organic where you can and do not spend your time worrying about things that may or may not happen.

Stress is also a great contributor to bad health

Change your own lifestyle!

Lupus-no
Parkinsons-maybe
Cancer-Probably, not because of your family history, but it seems cancer hits everyones life anymore

Early detection for many types of cancer now lead to a swift success rate, as well as the types of medicine available for different types of cancer have become more specialized.

I believe we have done this to ourselves thru pollution, contamination, downright poisoning of the land and water system.

If you are worried, ask your GP to refer you to a Clinical Geneticist who will plot your family's history and calculate the risks. It is a sophisticated exercise and without knowing the circumstances of each of your near ancestors no one can advise you.

i'm not really sure but if you eat the healthy foods and keep fit you have no chance of getting them.
i have a family history of diabetess so i will propberly have to watch my blood pressure and stuff but other then that i'm healthy and a healthy weight.
Ask your doctor or something about what to avoid so you won't get those illnesses
