Yes, and I still do. Versions I study regularly are KJV, NIV, Young's Literal Translation, and the NLT.

I did I had quite a few different vertions
NIV New International Version
CEV Youth Bible - Contempory English Version (I am really embarassed that i threw this one away in a fit of temper at some fundie family members and its the best copie I ever had).
I also still have a copy of th The Message - it has no verses and is only the new testement but it is written as the bible was originally - in working language of mordern day christians.
I have never read king james properly as i cant understand a word. I am dyslexic and have enough problems already and the translation isnt even very true to the original copies anyway its just true to what king james wanted to hear.

I have the first Greek text (Erasmus 1516). And it’s authorized translation, Various later edited translations by Lachmann, Tregelis, Tischendorf, and of course Cannon Westcott & Dr Horts sterling efforts. That’s all the KJV translations, and supplements.
All translations and rewrites since then, yes even the notorious JWs NWT. The NIV is somewhat disappointing though. I find cartoon versions to have a lot of impact with children; thankfully most Christians don’t trust them.
For you deamonsadiablo there is a bible in Basic English, it only uses 600 different words, plus names & places of course.
I have copies of many ancient Hebrew texts, some of the earliest Kabbalistic texts, the Qumran dead sea scrolls, all the Gnostic scriptures (including the Coptic scriptures from Nag Hammadi). The whole pile of scripts discarded in AD 397, the intertestamental texts. And virtually every piece of ‘sacred’ or philosophical writings to do with Judaism & Christianity.
The Koran, all the books and essays Muhammad had read to him before he wrote the Koran, all the Hadiths and every bit of Islamic ‘holy literature I could (mostly steal) beg or borrow.
The complete Mahabharata and RÄmÄyaá¹a and various other Hindu texts,
To cut it short I have, or have copies of or have access to just about every bit of religious writing on the planet.
Seen those Mayan books touring the museums, which they reckon none can read, well I have photocopied those too, just in case, I have taken impressions of Babylonian cuneiform texts in modelling clay, and made my own copies.
I got stuff from china, Japan, Cecil Rhodes left overs from Zimbabwe, plenty of Egyptian pieces including several versions of the book of the dead, (yes there are several). And some interesting Asian pieces.
I am sharing this so the next time some faith warrior insults me, please don’t accuse me of not studying your religion, I study all of them.
I am perfectly happy with being called ‘that Demon Atheist’. ( as I don’t accept that Demons are real ( not even the Djinn) you might as well call me the jabberwocky Atheist, it makes as much sense.
AND
Please Eds, give it a rest dude!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are all trying to have a serious (well sort of serious) discussion, and all you do is use every question as a chance to preach at everyone, even some of your own Christian folk are getting pissed at you constantly breaking the community guidelines, as a good Christian you are supposed to keep to the law.
If you just answer, maybe someone will actually read what you take so much trouble to write.

I have read the King James version, but I really enjoy a Bible I recieved as a gift back in 1978 it is called "The Way" The Living Bible. I use it on a daily basis because it is very easy to understand. I also like to use one that is called "Prince of Peace" Protestant Edition

I have some knowledge of God's Word. Every time I read it, I ask for wisdom, which is more than just studying. I find that I more easily understand the New International Version but, I like to look at many versions to receive more understanding.

The real question is "how many have read Revelations"? When that has been read everytrhing going on in the world RIGHT NOW will have better understanding. "and the beast shall take over"--- Bird flu,tripple-E, viruses in general.
Read it and there will be no need to read the rest, That is why it is said Revelations should not be first book of bible read; it's all right there.
What is done shall be done and will be done.
If more people understood this we would Not be killing eachother. We would realize we are all in the same boat (in one way or another) and be HELPING eachother. WHY they no longer teach this is beyond my comprehension.

i have studied the bible and read a great deal of it and i know in myself that i could never be a follower of a fellow god in any sence of the wording even jehovah hated me so i return the favor to him in my own ways. i have read a few different bibles in my time and they all state just about the same thing in different meanings to some of the words and some of the books are not in it that are in the KJV but they are still bibles none the less

I've studied, and used several translations at one time or another: NRSV, NIV, NAB, KJV, NKJV, etc. I own a few translations, and double-check others online if I'm looking at translational differences for interpretation purposes.
