According to the Airline Quality Rating Report, out of the 17 airlines being rated, Delta ranked 12th and US Airways ranked 15th. So, it seems Delta is better although neither one is very good.
Recently, US Air made a $8 billion bid to buy Delta but the offer was refused. Delta is still up for sale as it's in major financial trouble (see second link below).

Delta - (for now anyway)
On January 10, 2007, Delta Air Lines was speculated to be in talks with Northwest Airlines and United Airlines to fend off the possible US Airways merger. CEO Gerald Grinstein, however, has denied that any serious negotiatons are ongoing with Northwest or any other airline

I don't know- I have heard some horror stories about Delta overbooking and then people not getting the seats they had booked. I have had good luck with AmericaWest- which is now USAirways. I have never flown it, but I have booked flights for family members, and they seem to like it, sometimes they are a little more pricey, but Delta can be pricey as well. I have flown United a few times, they tend to have reasonable rates and good service, their TED planes are really nice. I have found that with airlines, it just depends on where you are going. To some destinations United may be less expensive, but to others, they may be more expensive.

Ghettonetial?!?! Hecks NO!
I travel quite a bit for business, so, my fav is American. But, between the two choices you've listed, Delta planes are uncomfortable, but, their flight attendents are the best.

I think they are comparable, but I think Delta's rates are usually a bit cheaper.
