my son is 18 months, and can say many words, and some sentences. he says things like milk, where's jada (the dog), me hungry, and i don't know, if you ask him something. is this good for his age? he can count to about 10, but doesnt know any letters yet. is he on the right track, or is he behind? my older son knew his entire alphabet at that age, and spoke in full sentences so i am a little worried.

I wouldn't be worried at all, my friends son is 17 months almost 18 and the only things he says are mom, dad, mamaw. My daughter is exactly one month younger and she can say absolutely anything. Everyone is amazed at how much she talks. But it sounds like he is doing real good.

i have not had this difficulty yet you sense that some thing isn't the same as your previous studies and also you only go with some reassurances. i do not imagine that you ought to be dropping their time, you've concerns about your son and also you only go with whats perfect for him. in case you aren't getting any excitement out of your wellbeing concentrated visitor try talking to at least one in all of your practice GP's, one in all them must have a particular pastime in new child wellbeing, some actually have extra skills in it and they could have the flexibility which could help you. If that would not artwork and your nonetheless no longer satisfied with what you've been advised and your son continues to be no longer progressing as you wish you could insist on seeing a Paediatrician (youngster's specialist) at your community medical institution. Your GP has to refer you in case you ask, do not enable them fob off. I do imagine regardless of the actuality that that your HV will be alot more desirable supportive than you imagine. good luck

Well, another thing that I noticed. My son was 2 weeks overdue when I gave birth to him. He talks very good and he is 27 months. He was big, and very bright. My daughter came out before my due date, and was as almost as big as my son, but she is very small for her age, didn't learn to crawl as soon as him, walk as soon as him. She is 10 months now, and my son was walking already. So it's different with every baby. My nephew is 18 months old and can't even talk. You are lucky.

Some people learn at differnt levels, but since he knows these things already, i wouldnt be worried yet. Encourage him to use more words and learn more things, also, try to get your oldest son to help him out too.

That is great- the first child learns quicker because he has all the attention.

My first was an early talker too. Dosent mean the others are slower, perhaps less verbal, definately less adult attention

don't worry cause all kids learn and do things at different stages....
think about it ur first son did things faster and quicker cause he was around adults most of the time.... but ur second one has his brother to do things for him, so hes being lazy..... i didn't talk til i was about 3 cause my sister did it all for me.....
give him time.... he'll do things when he is ready to.
