I'm about to travel and was wondering about bag limits and weight limits. I've done the research about gels, liquids, and aerosols but was wondering if size was important with other things....as long as Im not carrying any of it on the plane anyway? I just plan on taking my purse as a carry on! And putting everything else in my luggage.

You are allowed 1 carryon and 2 checked bags. The checked bags have to weigh less than 50 pounds, and no larger than 62 linear inches..(length plus width plus height) Anything that weighs more or is to large will have an excess fee...You can carry any liquids gels or aerosols in your checked baggage of any size. Carry-on must have items that are 3 oz or less and in a clear ziploc bag.. best bet is to have all that stuff in your checked baggage, except for medication that you need.. that you should carry with you incase of a delayed check bag issue.

There is a limit - for most U.S. airlines traveling domestically, there's a limit of 2 bags and total weight limit of 50 pounds. It might be different for international airlines and flights. Check with your airline. There's a fee for extra bags or overweight bags. Or if you have "special baggage" like skis or golf clubs

1 personal bag ( a purse, labtop, brifefcase or very small bag) and then another larger carry on are allowed to be brought per person into the cabin.

Then you can check 2 bags up to about 50 pounds each.

one carry on plus your purse, and two that can be checked in, if you have to check in more than two bags there is an extra fee, though this may vary depending on the airline you use.
