I'm trying to shed about 20-30 pounds as soon as possible! I'm in the military and got an injury during training. The time I spend on light/limited duty set back my Physical Training and I GAINED LBS! Now I'm paying for it. I've been in the gym 6days a week for the last month or so, lost a little less than 10lbs. My workouts kick off with LOTS of cardio, about 60+ minutes(ellipticals, treadmill, bike, stepmill - all which I vary in speed and resistance during those stations). I dont about 30 mins of resistance training on some of the machines. Does this sound like a surefire plain to continue to lose LBS.? I drink plenty of water throughout the day, and eat healthy. Within my diet, im not to concerned about carbs(i feel i need that energy due to only taking in 900cals)? Is this a reasonable mindset to have? Eat fruits, whole grain cereal, whole wheat bread/wraps, Fat Free Skim Milk, Egg-Beaters, Grilled Chicken Breast. Only 900 Cals, I'm 5'7, 21/M , 195lbs, 900cal safe?

You obviously know nothing about nutrition, the safe way the lose weight and human physiology. First of all the human brain alone requires 800 calories alone daily just to function. Your caloric intake should be around 1200 per day. You should aim to lose no more than 10 pounds per month. Eat a balanced diet of fresh vegetables and fruits, 100% whole grains, nuts, legumes, leaner cuts of meat or meat substitutes, poultry, etc. As far as exercise: gaining muscle mass will speed up you metabolism and is heavier than fat that you lose. Watch water intake. Electrolyte replacements is what you need to be paying attention to. Too much water will lead to water intoxication and potential death if not caught in time. Get with a trainer that knows what he's is doing. Remember, your goal is to be trimmer and healthier than when you started this program.

No, 900 is NOT enough. That's why you aren't losing much weight. You are also working out a lot and you can't judge your body by the scale. Your clothes should be fitting better and you will change fat into muscle. You know muscle weighs more than fat. But it's also what BURNS the fat so you have to keep doing it. You should be eating about 1,500 calories a day--ESPECIALLY since you are at the gym 6 days a week. You're eating the right things (it sounds like) you just need more of it. You will see a difference in how you look and more importantly, how you feel soon.
And, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! God bless you.

Honestly this is not enough info to truly predict your average weight loss per week there are to many variables. But 3500 calories is equal to 1 pound. Considering if you did not work out prior to this you will lose weight much quicker at first and as you gain muscle your weight loss will slow a bit. If you only intake 900 calories (which is a bit low if your exercising a lot) then calculate how many calories your burning and do the math. Also weigh yourself first thing every morning for your most accurate weight. Oh and just a health tip I would increase your calorie intake to atleast 1500 calories a day (500 per meal) and never skip breakfast.

900 calories is not safe. Your body will go into starvation mode. Keep it up and you will see a loss of muscle, and fatigue set in.
It sounds like your diet is balanced, and you are doing everything right.
Keep your calories about 1200 and you should see a weight loss increase by the end of your second week...without the fatigue that is guaranteed to begin setting in.
Basically you are running on empty. Just like a car, you'll only go so far before you begin to stall.

NO!! This is BAD. Your body will go into starvation mode and you'll actually GAIN weight - because your body will hold on to every calorie you eat.
Aim to consume a minimum of 1200 calories a day - you need this much to function normally. You're on the right track with the kinds of foods you're eating though. Add some veggies, maybe a little lean red meat.

You should definitely be eating more than 900 calories, unless you are a wrestler trying to cut weight

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

900 cals should lose you weight in a hurry, it isn't adequate nutrition for the amount of physical activity you describe however, and could easily boomerang your weight once you in crease your caloric intake. Essentially, you are telling your body that you are in starvation mode, and the body will burn muscle before it will burn fat in that mode. I understand your wanting to lose the weight quickly, however you risk your health and metabolic efficiency doing it that way. Urge you to increase to 1200 calories, that way, your body will convert fat to muscle, rather than conserve fat and burn muscle from your exercise routine. It's a little slower, but much more effective and healthy.

Horrible!! with the workouts you are doing ..you are going to trick your metabolism into thinking that you are starving...which in turn will cause your body to store whatever little bit of calories you are consuming...for an active person who is working out intensely..you should be consuming 1500 calories per day ...AT LEAST!!!
