Cockerel- has spurs, large comb and wattles, more colourful, says ****-a-doodle-doo.
Hen- smaller comb + wattles, more compact shape and is continually mounted by the **** bird!! Will lay eggs once old enough.
Great hobby! Have fun.

Oh! and Yahoo wont let me write the C**k word, I wonder why?

Cockerels are taller and thinner, with longer feathers and more colourful, plus they crow. Hens are short and fat and usually all the same colour. When they are young they look the same though so it's hard to tell. Best to just wait till it's obvious.

Roosters have long tail feathers and usually their comb will be bigger. They also get waddles. Usually you can see a difference around 2 weeks of age as far as the tail feathers grow.
