Families grow apart because they let little things come between them, then people move away and stop calling. It's really sad but I think it happens in every single family.

Romo you look so sad. I'm sorry your family has grown apart. I don't know why it happens I guess just getting older, growing up.
You should make every moment you do spend with your family special. Always say I love you and initiate plans or fun things for you all to do even if everyone can't participate . If your family has grown apart for a more serious reason I apologize and hope it all works out.

It's sad, but life seem,s to get in the way. Everyone gets caught up in work and children and their own lives, that the family seems to grow apart. The good thing about my family is that when we do get together it's like we were never apart. Just hold onto the fact that they will always be your family and be there for you even though your lives seem to be going in different directions. Make an effort to get people together more often. Someone has to make the effort, why not you?

Good question.
A very lucky few do not experience this problem. It's those families I wonder about. What are they doing differently? How do they keep their families together?
Perhaps instead of asking why families grow apart, as those answers are plentiful, we need to be asking, how can we keep are families from growing apart?
A firm foundation on which to build your family unit would be the first step. Open doors of communication are mandatory for building a successful family unit, and seeing to it that you never allow anything or anyone to separate you from your family is vital.
Hope this helps

hi there, well its happening to me. its simply but yet complacated
families pull apart for a number of reasons you all our growing up different views on life. and its all because you our differant no two minds our alike were diffent our reactions are differant , and some members what to be the chief and that dont work , some what to take credit for the thing you have done. its like this in a lot of family special the older generation children they all knows whats best for everyone with out thinking about the others it's a big mess, the only way i can handle it is to be myself and be happy what you do. love , give hope and by all mean be faithful to your self if they what to grow apart . doesnt mean you do . be true to yourself. your friend shirle

It really depends on how a person was raised. If you were not raised to be close then it would be hard to change the cycle of not making the effort to closeness. Once you make the decision to bridge the space within the family and make an effort to bring the closeness then your family will grow together. It will be a long and not easy road but it can happen.

having family that grows apart is a hard thing to deal with. The best advice that I can give is to try and start a family reunion...send out an invitation to all that you can think of...Get a place that you can hold this reunion and just see if they will come to it. Start by getting on the phone talk with your mother or your favorite aunt to see if they can help you. Good Luck on connecting your family back together.....

Families grow apart because once everyone is old enough to do things on their own then friends become our family and we forget where the foundation lays.

A lack of respect and communication, you will need to find hobbies and community projects to keep your family together. Educate yourself first about what you can involve your family in, families work on fun and games before throwing serious ideas that may cause problems. Sports and music are good things to try first to understand comfort levels.
