Me and my boyfriend live together (we are not married) we have 2 children together,and we are filing separately..i am claiming one child and he is claiming the other..Can we both claim head of household in this situation?

Yes, since you are not married. With claiming one dependent each, each of you can claim head of household. The IRS doesn't look at address, they look at household, and in your case, you have two households sharing the same address.

Head of household requires not only a dependent child, but also that the person filing that way has paid MORE THAN half of the cost of maintaining the household for the tax year. You can't EACH have paid MORE THAN half.

So no, you can't.

are you getting married? do you live in a community property state? you can read my questions that i have been asking as i did the same thing - not sure if you both can do that or not.....i'm just as confused as you.....i would get married to him and file together so you don't have to worry about it....and enjoy each other as a married couple......
don't let your boyfriend ruin your life because he won't marry you as mine is trying to do.....

No.

The one who pays most of the bills is Head of Household.

If you share equally, then neither of you qualifies because the law says "more than 50%".
