The problem is we are not married and don't know if this would be an issue. My son's father has been out of the picture since he was 2. He is now 6. He hasn't paid my child support since he was 3. I didn't want any hassles with him if we ended up splitting up (wich happened 4 months after my son was born), so I did not add his name on the birth certificate and he has my last name. He calls my boyfriend Dad and he's been providing for him since he was 3.
I live in Ontario, Canada. Please help!!!

Love means to accept a person fully,his present as well as past.If ur boyfriend really loves u then believe me he will have no problem in doing that.For law related problems contact a good lawyer.Good luck

The only way your boyfriend could adopt your son is if you sign away your rights to him. So in other words, no.

Since you're not married to him, you OR him can be the legal parent of your son, but not both until you and he are married.

Canada got different law. Ask a family law attorney.
