It can hinder a relationship when the communication is meaningless or full of spite, in other words, yelling at each other over something small and insignificant just because your bored. It promotes a good relationship when the words are kind, encouraging, loving and said to improve aspects of your relationship and each other.

Communication is key to a good relationship. Be it a lover, friend or co-worker, communication can make or break a relationship. Being able to sit down and talk about the things that you are facing as a couple will ensure no misunderstandings or hurt feelings. I have seen many relationships end because the 2 people involved just didn't , couldn't or wouldn't open up to each other. I think sometimes we expect our significant other to read our minds and just know what we are feeling or what we need from them. Talking to each other expands your relationship and brings the 2 of you closer emotionally and physically.

If it is selfish than it will hurt a relationship. Communication should be thought of as positive, up - building. Often we talk without meaning to it, what matters is the talk after we think about it. For example, the wife is at home all day with the kids. They argue and fight without end, and she is mentally drained. She knows her husband has plans to go somewhere after dinner. When he comes home from work, he gets ready and leaves, saying good-bye but nothing else. She now feels abandoned and not cared about. He could have said:" Honey, I know you had a bad day. Is it alright if I still go tonight? I'd be glad to stay here. How about I take the kids out tomorrow when I get home so you can have some breathing room." It would have left her without resentment. Being thoughtful of others and voicing that is very important to maintain a good relationship.

Communication is basically what a relationship is about and this is why it is important to not only fancy the person physically but to also like their mind. If you cannot talk to one another, there is basically no point in being together. What would be the point?

communication is vital for any relationship to survive. In a marraige or long term a lack of communication leads to feelings of isolation...lonliness. Attempts at communication should always be appreciated and listened to....not met with this is not the right time...I am tired etc...if that is so...then agree to talk about it again at a mutually suitable time. I have been in a marraiage with no real communication for years....and it is a s....t place to be....

Lack of commnucation is the biggest hindrance in a relationship - it is the root cause of all the little tiffs I have with my husband. I would always rather hear bad news than not know what is going on with him.
