I have this large painting (airbrush) that a friend made for me. I now need to get a frame for it. However I don't know what sort/color of frame to buy. The painting is in black and white (grayscale) and quite large (140x100cm or 55x40 inches) and pictures two heads/faces looking at eachother...

I dont know if I should use a black frame or maybe a wood-colored one? Or something else? The wall it is supose to hang on is sort of natural white-yelowish...

Thanks!

If I were you, I'd choose something in the room to tie in the frame color- say you have a red couch - go with a red frame.
If you don't have a dominant piece of furniture in the room, then 'generic' black is fine (I'd stay away from white since your wall is off white), or perhaps a chrome or brushed steel look. Any metal in the room you can tie the frame in to visually?
And for a painting that large, I'd keep the frame minimal in width, perhaps no more than an inch.

Sometimes the best frame for artwork is something that doesn't detract from the art itself - a Plexiglas poster frame is clear and lets the art stand on its own. Or poster clips. (Your local crafts/frame shop will have these.) Or a nice metal frame which you can build yourself, silver or brushed silver or black (shiny or matte.)

use a black aluminum frame, either matte finish or glossy depending on the texture of the print in question
