I have a back porch that is kind of screened in with a small doggie size door wasps have gotten in and not been able to find there way back out now there is a bird that is in that area but can not find its way back out. I do not know what kind of bird it reminded me of a humming bird with its long beak but it is by my guess the size of 2 humming birds. I hope it does not die.

Open the door and darken all the other windows in the room. The light through the open door spells "out" for the bird.

I dont know if they can get lost. Good question. But my bird got out once and never came back.

It could be confused and if it gets stung multiple times it will die. Anyway you can get it out? Spray the wasps nest at night and get the bird out? You could call your local wildlife and see if they can do something to help it out.

Whenever birds get into my house, I use a net to gently catch them and release them. If you dont want to get a net, try to coax the bird to where the exit is. It may be easier with 2 people.

Birds that get into buildings will panic and often can't find their way out. You need to capture that bird and release it ASAP. If it is a hummingbird, it will starve quickly without food.
