Moles do become cancerous from time to time, however they generally give you a good warning. If a mole grows, changes color, begins to itch, or just 'feel funny' go to a doctor and have them look at it. They will remove it and biopsy it. While it may sound a bit excessive, melanoma is one of the worst cancers you can get, and it often started by nothing more than exposure to sunlight.

some moles do need to be checked on to see if they are cancerous but for the most part mole do not cause cancer

No, moles do not cause skin cancer. However, they can become cancerous. See a dermatologist and have any you have checked at least yearly.

i think some moles are cancerous... the type of mole that keeps on growing and multiplying.... but i am not really sure if it causes skin cancer... don't worry i'll ask my friends and my clinical instructors for you....
