Cold weather always intensifies the pain. Try soaking your hands in warm water with Epsom salts several times a day to see if this helps take down the pain. I've also found that if people consume soft drinks in cans or use canned food they will have increased Pain in their hands. If you are using any of these products in can form switch to bottles. You'd be surprised how many times this has reversed conditions such as yours. It's also very important to drink lots of water every day at least ten glasses. This is going to help flush toxins from the body.

If the pain continue see your doctor for further advice.

The 2 diagnosis are not incompatible. At 70 she will inevitably have osteoarthritis in all her joints, everyone does. She will probably also have some osteoporosis which will produce some wedging of the vertebrae. This will cause nerve trapping which may radiate pain to the shoulder. 70 year old may run into stomach problems if they take anti-inflammatory drugs unless they take stomach protectors as well. Simple pain killers can produce problems with brain function and if they contain codeine can produce constipation, confusion and addiction, particularly in the more elderly. What I am really saying is though there should be an easy answer to your question, however there is no straight forward one as all the options have potential problems. She needs to go back and chat over the options with their various risks with her GP.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!
