I put off ending a long term relationship because I dreaded the single scene. Six months later and the only possibilities I've found are my ex's friends and my friend' ex's, not going there, it skeeves me out.
I hate the bar scene and I meet no women in my work or sports/hobbies. Where are all the single 30 something women at?

I had the same problem when I was single. I hated the bar scene because it was full of phonies and alcoholics. Work was taboo because nothing good ever comes of mixing the two. I ended up taking some courses at college and university not so much to meet anyone but because I was looking to improve my employement skills. I was amazed at the people I met. If I was a male I think I would enrol in a course in Women's Studies. Not only is it infomative and interesting, kind of the opposite of what we always studied in school which was history from a male perspective, but full of intelligent, amazing people. I would also join a gym since I also meet a lot of single males there and they are usually a lot of fun and interested in staying fit like myself. These two places are full of people who want to become better people unlike bars where they are coasting along just trying to get by. I hope this helps as it did with me. The only place I would steer clear of is internet dating and chatrooms. I ended up with a horrible experience because of that. There are some dangerous people out there and if you want to have your very own stalker that is the place to find them.

I would say, if you are having difficulty why don't you join an online dating group. EHarmony or something. It's not the "desperate" move people once thought it was. I've had several attractive, educated, successful friends sign up and they had no complaints. But, as far as personality goes.. .a woman in her 30's isn't looking for the same things as a woman in her 20's. She is looking for someone to settle down with and have a family (oh and another thing to consider a lot of women in their 30's have a child from a previous relationship too). But, be nice, honest, easy going and not too chatty, let her get a word in, ask about her likes, take mental note, then if there is a second date, do something she mentioned she likes to do. Stores, could be good, or bad. Read their body language before you approach someone. She may not be single, so it could be embarrassing. Some bars are okay to meet people, some aren't. Set ups maybe might be good too.

have you tried out a dating site that's a possibility,many good dating sites on the Webb. you have to tell a Little about your self
and the lady you wanna meet. then you sit and wait until somebody is interested you also have to load up a photo but that's no problem trust me.

dating agencies will have people your match.
look in your local newspaper and go to a speed dating night. if you dont feel like going on your own, take a friend, either same or opposite sex for support.
