PDF is Portable Document Format and is a format that was originally defined by Adobe. There is a free PDF reader available from Adobe at www.adobe.com. They have a paid version that you can use to generate your own pdf files, but there are also third party PDF writers available for free. The "PDF" file is just like the paper that you print out from printer but it can be viewed on the computer. I mean you can print and convert any documents using the PDF creator and it can be viewed on PC so you do not have to print it out for real.
