Your taking her son away. It doesn't matter how old he is, or if he has his own home or not...Mom's are almost always possessive of their sons and all you can do is show her that you are not trying to come between them, that you are a great person, and you will not hurt him. Never involve her in any disagreements you two might have or nag at him around her...
Spend some time with her, if you can, without him around and try to get to know her and let her see who you are. Time will help as well. Hang in there, remember she is the reason he is worth the time and effort! And learn from her example and don't do this to your son's girl friends!
Remember the old saying....a son is a son until he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter all her of life.

My ex's mom was a total psycho b*tch! You just have to realize that she is probably just overly protective, of what she still considers "her little boy". Is his dad still around? If not, that could be a really good indicator that she is lonely, and her son is all she has. If his dad is around, then maybe she is just a jealous freak. Regardless of the conditions of the situation, that is his mom, and if you are gonna be with him, I am willing to bet that you are gonna have to learn to deal with his mom too. Have you tried talking to him about it? Tell him how you feel, maybe all three of you should sit down and talk....if that isn't possible, you either need to stay the h*ll away from her, or drop him and find someone who's mom isn't an overbearing jealous "mommy dearest"!!!

Yes, its true, the jealousy is coz of scared losing someone love and or the love that have to share between two woman. I do understand that, im a mother myself, sometimes i do jealous of my son's gf, im scared that he might like her cooking, or he might compare who's the best. Even tho he always say to me im the best mother in this world, but im a woman too, as usual we woman do get jealous. Remember the jealous not coz of she is lesbian or what, but coz she scared loosing a son's love.
The best to overcome with this situation is have a girl to girl talk. Tell her everything what he like to do and what he dnt like to do. Try to be friends with the mother is the best result u will see. The best relationship is come with approval frm the family. The jealousy will go step by step just dont too harsh on it. Treat the mother as a woman as you're.

All mom's are protective of their children, girls or boys. Maybe she doesn't know you that well yet and is just watching out for him to make sure that he doesn't get hurt. No matter how old he is. Once a parent always a parent.
