For example, when something good happends, are you waiting for something really bad to follow? Or do you keep yourself from being very happy, because you don't want something to cole along and take the happiness away?

no, i just takes what comes along and make the best of it.
bad things just happen to people, regardless of who you are or what you do with your life, you may not be able to control when or how they happen, but you most certainly can control how you react to it and how much you will allow it to affect you.
but inversely if you have too much bad stuff happening to you or too little fun will you be due for some "good luck"???
how do you quantify happiness or fun or the reverse?????
God bless,
gabe

No, I used to but I have been in therapy for quite a while. I used to think that I was cursed and could not be happy. Now I realize that iit is just my bi-polar syndrom. Upas and downs foloow each other because of my disease.
I take my medicine and go to therapy and I try to keep putting one foot in front of the other (5 suicides did not work, so I quit doing that)

Yes, I do believe that when you're happy, you will come down or that when things are going well, something bad will happen. It's the natural course of life. You have to have bad times to appreciate the good. But just as sure as you are to have bad times, you'll have good times, too.

i simply try to be happy while it's easy to be.

it sure seems that bad things happen everytime you're happy, but it's just that you can't be 100% happy all of the time, and it seems like the bad is happening to just counter-act the goodness.

my advice is to enjoy the happy times while they're there, and when you're sad, try to find something happy... or put yourself in a situation where something good is bound to happen.

No, I try to enjoy good times when the come along. You know that sooner or later something negative will happen. Why ruin the moment worrying about later?

Absolutely! Even if I'm very, very happy for some reason I'm always reminding myself I'm on th peak of a flucuation, just enjoy it while it lasts because happiness and unhappiness both appear in waves...

Putting this in perspective.. if you are "too happy", any happy condition less than this means "you aren't as happy as before".
Sad it is that some people will avoid happiness or laughter because they think it attracts bad luck or ill omens. If anything, the reverse is true. The natural law of momentum states that any body in motion will tend to stay in motion, and any body at rest, will tend to stay at rest. This applies to happiness too. Those who allow themselves to be happy, tend to stay happy. Those who don't allow it, are seldom happy. Go figure...

Bad things usually follow good things because everything has a natural tendency to return to the median -- to "balance" itself out if you will. A perfect example of this is the stock market.

Superstitions. Be all the happy you want to be and don't worry about negative things happening, because they will eventually. Its called LIFE. Enjoy it while you can and for as long as you can.
