do not sell your car to anyone who does not see it, touch it, etc. I have a wall of phony cashiers checks, from craigslist.

Do not! I repeat Do not ship your car until the check has cleared and the money is in your account there are lots of forged certified checks floating around and many others have signed the title over only to find out too late that they were ripped off and their car has been shipped to Nigeria or god knows where! wait until your bank says the cash is in hand!

Wait til your bank clears the check before releasing the car and title.

Get the check.. CASH THE CHECK.. money in hand.. ship car as promised.

end of story.

Don't you LET that car go before the money is put into your bank.

99% it's a scam but you can try to cash the check - bank will charge you a few bucks if it bounces - but don't do anything until you have the cash!
