In the 60s I had a beehive hairdo and to achieve it involved masses of backcombing, spraying with hairspray before smoothing the top layer over and then spraying again then lifting it a little bit with the tail of a tail comb. I feel personally responsible for the hole in the ozone layer having used all that spray!
To achieve the full look you will have to wear almost white lipstick and panda-type eye make up, but perhaps that is going a bit too far!

Go to an old fashioned hair salon tell the stylist that you want a beehive hair style

You will then get your hair shampood and roller set and then you will be taken to sit and cook under a dryer for about an hour,
After your rollers have been removed your hair will be backcombed to hell and then the stylist will put your "Big Big" Hair into a beehive hairstyle

or better still be kind to your hair and buy a wig from a fancy drees costume shop

It's easy. Gather up very small sections of your hair and ratt it hard and heavy. Keep going over your whole head until you have every inch of it ratted. Spray each section as you go. Lots of hairspray. (this applies whether your hair is short or long)
Then, when that's done--it'll take half an hour or more--use a brush or comb to lightly smooth over the very top layer of hair, keeping the volume underneath. Only the top layer gets smoothed out. That'll do it --with a final heavy coat of hairspray.

If your hair is short, you curl the 'sideburns' in the shape of a 'c' toward the front of your face.

You lift strands of your own hair and 'french comb' it. By that I mean you hold a strand of hair at the tip and then push a comb up and down from about two inches, down to the root. Put lots of hair lacquer on it. Keep doing this all over your head. You will end up looking as though you have seen a ghost, but then you smooth the hair by gently combing at the ends and shape it any way you want, you will probably try a 'french pleat' (push the hair at the back of your head to one side, pin down then bring over to the other side. Good luck, as it is murder to brush out again.

Its really easy,I had mine in a beehive when I was young.

You need an ordinary comb, lift a strand of hair from the top of your head high in the air and instead of combing it do it backwards, its called back combing, keep doing it with all the hair on the top till it looks like a birds nest.
Then get your comb and starting from the roots near your forehead start combing properly ,bits of hair to cover the back combed hair, then you need to spray it to keep it in place.
You will have to practise a few times till you get it right, and also remember it takes some getting out.

Good luck,I used to love my hair in a beehive.x

I'm hoping this is for a role in a play or you are getting your Halloween costume ready way in advance! A metal teasing comb and craploads of Aqua Net hairspray. Don't light up any ciggs. while you wear this thing!

start off with lots of hairspray and a tease comb. Begin in front in small sections an work your way to the back which someone else will have to do. It is fun to do.

Go to a hairdresser. Unless you are a genius at doing your own hair don't attempt it. I had one put in last year and it was a serious amount of work but looked fantastic.

Lots of back-combing and lots of hairspray! It is the coolest 'do in history all the same!
