hey guys, I'm a 17 yr old male, and I get pimpled on my head (not foreheard) and chin only, as in the places on my face/head where hairs grow. I think it's kind of odd because the pimples go away and come back randomly. Is this just a phase or should I be worried?

Do you shave your head? The reason that I ask is because these "pimples" may actually be ingrown hairs, which occur because the hair follicle is too weak to push through the skin. An easy remedy for that problem is to exfoliate your skin once a day, preferrably before you shave. A cheap cleanser like the St. Ives Apricot Scrub will do the trick. Try that before you go for a more expensive skin-care regimen.

Also, be aware that a lot of times, people mis-treat oily skin. Oil glands over-produce because they sense that the skin is overly dry; if your skin is oily, try a gentle FACIAL moisturizer once a day, and a cleanser that won't strip the skin of all the oils and moisture. You'd be surprised what a difference that will make.

You usually get pimples on chin due to your cell phone. Try cleaning it at least once a week with an alcohol swab. The pimples on your forehead probably come from washing your face and oil is getting pushed into the hairline. Try to get the face wash up into the hairline and it should eliminate that problem. Try not to touch your face too much because oil from your hands will go on your face and in turn you get a pimple. A brand that I recommend is Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. You can use it as a daily cleanser or keep it on for 5 minutes as a mask. I've been pretty clear since using it daily. Hope this helps! Good luck!

You should perhaps change shampoo to something like Neutrogena T-gel shampoo and be sure to use it everyday to get the days sweat, dirt and oil out before you go to bed. You should wash your face at least twice a day with a soap that has salicylic acid to kill bacteria on the skin and be using a scrub several days a week with the salicylic acid in it to exfoliate the dead skin off. Neutrogena for men makes a great scrub and finally using a lotion that has the salicylic acid in it to keep germs off your face and to balance out the skin's oil production. If you keep a light pimple fighting moisturizer on it slows down the oil on your face. One important thing is to keep your hands off your face all the time, don't be rubbing dirt, oil and germs into your skin so notice if you happen to rub the affected area a lot and quit it!

Hey,
It could be either pimples or, shaving bumps. If you shave alot, you might get these shaving bumps. You can go to a dermatologist, and see what it really is. Goodluck.
