The only way I would say NOT to drop him would be if your religion really has absolutely no meaning for you, and you were thinking about quitting anyway.

One person in a relationship should not be imposing their religious beliefs on the other. If religion is an issue, you two are so far apart that there's no future.

Unless your church sacrifices people, dump the boyfriend. Never give up your faith for anyone. A better guy is out there waiting for you and is willing to practice your faith with you. Good luck and GOD bless.

1) Ask him why.

2) Say "no", no matter what the answer.

Usually guys like this are uncomfortable around churches because they have a few things to hide.

Religion is a very personal thing and no one should tell you how to practice it. My ex husband was a christian (only when he wanted to be) and I practice more Buddhism, but we respected each others beliefs and it never became a problem for us. You can have different beliefs and still be a couple but it takes maturity. Good luck and don't give anything up that is important to you for a man!!

I would dump him if I was you. You should not let anyone tell you not to go to church. If your boyfriend doesn't support you on this, what dose this say about your future together.Break up with him. Good Luck.

Why is he so offended that you go to church?
You need to decide which is more important to you.
Your relationship with him? or your relationship with God?
If he loved you he would not make you choose!

Good luck And God bless you!

Religion is actually a huge factor in relationships. If it's obvious from the start that he doesn't share your beliefs, and is actually voicing them in such a controlling manner, maybe it's better to break it off now, rather than later.

Depends on what is more important to you. If your religion comes first then explain that to him. Tell him he doesnt have to go, but that its important to you and you dont want to give it up. You also have to realize that if he doesnt agree with you going to church, it may not end up being a stable relationship....depending on his reasons for not wanting you to go to church.

your faith is so much more important than any boy. your boyfriend should have to make you give up what makes you happy. that's messed up. that's like telling him to stop playing video games. obviously he has no respect for you

Remember what Jesus said in the Great Commission (Matt 28). "Teach all things I have commanded". i.e. no guy is worth going to hell over!!! Either get him going to church or dump him and find one who will.
