"There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens."
Is it time now for the Catholic Church in England and Wales to initiate the process towards complete separation of Church and State?
I really cannot see a reason why religious institutions, adoption agencies, etc., affiliated to a religious community (or institution as those outside the community like to think of it) should have to play ball with those who really ARE NOT INTERESTED in understanding them, and are merely tolerating them at best.
They have a right, as does any community in a democracy, to use their resources as they see fit. Why then, continue to engage with an increasingly secular society who are interested (nominally) in the Church's POV only when talks of money arise (the Church is filthy rich, right?). Does the outreach cause require Catholics to be 'doormats'?
Let the religious communities look after their own affairs and let the secularists support the secular causes.

Christianity in general in the UK is a non-issue-they can do what they want as far as I'm concerned. Give it twenty years and they'll be gone anyway.

Peace be with you. The Truth will make you free.
The Time of the Gentiles is at hand. This generation (6th) shall not pass until all is fulfilled. The 7th king and the 9th king are now in power. The 2nd Time in TIMES or 1960 years 6 season of Labor (Sowing of Seed) and 1 season of REST (Harvest), but as in the 5th Age (tribulation) This Age (Great tribulation) those who have died for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ must wait until all have been killed as they were. The last Age (7th) is a HALF TIME or 980 years, 6 season of sowing and the Final Harvest. But the rewards Blessings (BEATITUDES), The PROMISED LAND will be given at the beginning of the Season of Harvest.

I fully understand what you say,but as long as the Catholic church is universal and clothed with the compassion of Christ it will endevour to see to the needs of the poor and down-trodden wether or not the secular state likes it.

I believe That Christ is the head of the church.and that each individual congregation is independant from one another.being that elders and deacons lead each congreagation.there are no earthly head quarters or committees to decide what role the church but only Christ And The Bible.I Believe That the LORD was very wise in the way he desighned his church and sacrificed his very life to die for her.

If you could just take your statement and reverse it, you'd see the irony here.

"I really cannot see a reason why" non-religious individuals "should have to play ball with those who really ARE NOT INTERESTED in understanding them, and are merely tolerating them at best."

There is no seperation of church and state, at least there should not be, for all countries need christ in dealing with politics, remember POLI means many and TICS is small blood sucking animals without Christ all countries will fall.

Churchianity wants to control the state, it does not want to separate! True faith in Scripture has nothing in common with "organized religion" or with the State.
