Absolutely true. People are not a peaceful population. Organized Religion is the number one cause of that problem. "My God is better than your God!" starts a lot of wars. Plus people are inherintly violent, it's millions of years of natural selection.

I don't think it is unattainable. Maybe a better word is unlikely. Time may improve the chances, Currently, there are too many cultures with differences. Differences are good; however, these differences are backed by greed and cravings for power. Some want to change other's culture and some will defend their culture's to keep from being changed. Top this off with hate for the other and you have a very volatile situation (i.e. terrorism). Hopefully, time will make things better. We need more care and common sense in our governments. I'm all for defending one's self and ideals. I am not one to force my ideals on someone else. I can accept your differences if you can accept mine. I may not have you over for dinner, but that doesn't mean we have to be enemies.

It might be attainable. Hard to imagine the circumstances, tho. Doesn't it seem like some tribe somewhere would be fighting with somebody else even if the big powers all lived in peace? People fight for all kinds of things, money, power, glory, religion, even just because their hormones are raging and making them aggressive. Its kind of cruel to say, but I think people who want to slaughter each other should do so, they eliminate themselves as a problem for the rest of us.
